Whew. I have been through a few mufflers and full exhausts. If you give the stock exhaust some time they actually start to sound good to my ears. Also the smoothest the bike has every been has been with stock exhaust.
Sounding like a broken record, but due to finances I uses all conventional fluids this last change, my 2010 came with conventional fluids, but at 500 miles I switched to Amsoil, and that was 24,500 miles ago. Anyway. Using conventional in the engine and primary, but leaving Amsoil MCV 20W50 in the tranny really made the motor have less top end noise. The primary doesn't have any noise, and the transmission never did make noise. I mean at least 75% less top end noise, and that really helped the pipes sound nice.
I really like the FXDB. Just wish I had the ignition on the dash. I get tired of reaching around. Between the wife and the bike it seems like all I do is reach around.
My next dealer bike will be left 100% stock. Be it a VROD or a bagger, it will be stock.

love my streetbob .. congratulations... do a good stage 1 and the bike will run like a champ!! Tried different oils in mine and regular primary / trans fluid and mobil 1 20 /50 v twin synthetic in the motor has been a winning combination for me.. bike runs smooth as silk. Consider changing the stock pipes for a different set if you do nothing else .. those catalytics in the stock pipes will cook your leg. Good luck with your bike. StreetBob has been the best HD experience I have ever had.
I finally broke down and bought another bike to replace the evo as a daily driver....ended up getting a 2012 street bob, must say pretty pleased with everything
Since i live in Hawaii, it costs roughly 17,5-18 to take one of these home from the dealer, i picked mine up for 13, a month after the dude bought it from the dealer.
Already installed passenger peg mounts and pegs, and got a pillion for the mrs.
had to share the excitement with the people that know how i feel!
more pictures to come tomorrow,
oh and btw those stock pipes have got to go....any suggestions?
depends on how you ride.. I have a good two into two exhaust from Bub. But I do a lot of high speed riding. For Hawaii id think about a good 2 into 1. Lots of great choices out there.. bassani, bub, thunderheader, d&d, V&H , supertrapp etc..
