I know what you mean... It's been one of my life goals to get a wide glide. My wife loves crotch rockets but hates cruisers. The only reason I was able to get a wide glide and chop it up is she has her own bike and will never ride mine!
The bought tank lift is simply that, pay $30 so you don't have to make it yourself. If you have the tools and ability, save the money. Some of the taller tank lift kits come with a new braided fuel crossover.
