Default Exhaust & fuel computer question

I have a 2006 Street Bob w/ EFI and was interested in getting Vance & Hines Shortshots. I have been told that this will necessiate adding a fuel computer. Is this true? Do I also have to add a high flow air cleaner?

If I just go with slip ons, do I still need the fuel computer?

Thanks from a new member!

Well I will tell you my experience on my 12' Fat Bob. Installed V&H Pro Pipe and the bike ran fine with no added fuel. Then I added VIEDs just for kicks and the bike seemed to run smoother. Took off the VIEDs and added a K&N open a/c, bike ran fine.
Installed the Power Vision and all is good. If your 06' is anything like mine your bike will run fine with the exhaust upgrade, go for it man, you'll be ad you did!

I just installed cycle shack baffles into my se slipons along with Xied that i picked up off a forum member. They sound great with no backfire or decel popping.

Thanks guys. If I get a fuel computer, is there a preferred brand that is not too expensive?

If you want to go cheep get soe XEID's at nightrider.com. It's not a tuner but will add some fuel to the mix. About 100 bucks

FuelMoto PCIII. They have the best price and can load a map on it for you. The best part as you make changes all you have to do is emal them and they will send you a map to install. They are a dyno shop and have hundreds of maps. Call them and talk to them before you buy anything.
