I just installed cycle shack baffles and Xied. Im wondering, is there any hp or torgue gains by installing a breather. If so what would be my best bang for my buck. Tks in advance for all input and knowledge
Your motor is basically an air pump... the more air you can get through it, the more power youll be able to make, as long as you have enough fuel to go along with it that is. Yes an open air filter will gain you more power... but by going from the lil bitty hole in the stock box to an exposed filter, you'll prolly want to consider ditching the factory exhaust, even though you just put the new baffles in, and get an exhaust that will that added air to get out...
As far as a breather kit... DK Customs makes a very nice "outlaw" breather, thats what i've got on mine with the rain sock over the filter element
Personally not a fan of Xieds... they essentially trick the computer into thinking there is more O2 than there really is and thus enriches the fuel... if you decide to go breather, exhaust, get an actual tuner
I added the Kuryakin High Five Mach II Air Cleaner, Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-Into-2 Exhaust, and the HD Race Tuner. A Dynamometer tune after that gave me a 12 HP increase over stock.
As the gentlemen above stated, power is only limited by budget!
You will enjoy accessorizing your bike, and adding performance, as much as you will riding it. Have fun!
