Nice to see someone with a definite plan on what they want out of a bike. Thanks for posting what you have and please don't leave us hanging. This is the first thread I've subscribed to in a long time.
I do have another update, the 1986 EVO engine is at my local machine shop getting the stroker crank trued, balanced and welded. They are machining the cases for the 600 lift cam and porting the heads..
They are also fitting the stock jugs with forged 10.5:1 pistons. I am going to top it off with a 45mm mikuni, roller rockers, adjustable push rods, and an Ultima single fire ignition.
This is the same basic build as the 89 inch stroker EVO in my Softail that scored 90HP and 103TQ on the dyno. That motor also broke 100k miles recently so reliability should not be an issue..
This should really scoot that light FXR along with the 6 speed tranny..
I do eventually plan to swap the motor with an Ultima 114 inch but that will be 6 months or so away, maybe longer...
if you turn key on and start cranking on battery it is slow for first few seconds then speeds up but if you will leave key on running lights for 30 seconds it spins like crazy . battery designer told me the lithium batteries need to heat up for a few seconds , second thing he told me was never let battery go down to no charge because it will destroy battery .
My battery is 6 months old with no problems . the new lithium batteries are better on cold start so ive been told . i should be getting new style soon to test and sending this one back for review . it has been on a high compression evo motor with no compression releases .
