I have 3600 miles on an '11 FXDC,and 2600 miles on an oil change. I checked today and needed to add 1/2 qt of Mobil 1 20-50. Most companies state a qt per 1000 miles is possible.
Is this good for the TC96 engine, and does it get better as more miles are added? It seems good for a big bore, long stroke, air cooled twin, to me, but want to know what the gurus here say. tomp dd50
Before jumping to conclusions do a plug check to see if there any telltale oil buring signs. I would also check for leaks and signs of oil in the air cleaner.

Hopefully it was broken in correctly. I have the same motor with over 20k on it and use the same oil as you. I change it every 5000 miles and never had to add any oil in between changes. And I do tend to run it pretty hard, which would increase consumption.
There's some good advice given above, so check things out.
I had three big twins before this one and none used any oil. I did my own o/f change but measured the refill closely. Gonna do another ride this weekend, and will recheck the oil level to make sure the level looks correct. It runs great and most of the miles have been at highway speeds, I did break it in correctly, and don't abuse the engine by over revving or lugging. I hope all ends up ok, as it is still under warranty, and I know MOCO will say a pint in 2600 miles is ok by them.... tomp dd50
