Default salvage bikes....

I'm looking at a salvage title 2007 superglide. Apparently the front forks were bent and had to be replaced.

Worth picking up? The price is very right... Anything I should be wary of?

Id INSIST on having a qualified mechanic inspect it before you even consider purchasing it. Caveat emptor "let the buyer beware"

Got a buddy of mine that has bought several from a place in Virginia. He has always had good luck with them but I guess you still never know.

The problem with salvage title vehicles can be: hidden damage; inability to get full coverage insurance; inability to get a loan on the vehicle; greatly reduced book value; problems possibly registering it depending on the State and the documentation; and because of the above - possibly a problem selling it when you want to move on.

Mine was totaled when I bought it. It releases you from all guilt about major modifications. Just inspect it carefully or have someone you trust do so. Knock about 20% off KBB for the salvage title and after that just enjoy the thing and forget about what it says on the title.

id buy one. especially if it was only the front forks. the good thing about a salvage title is you can ride the **** out of it and dont need to worry about going down and wrecking the value of it cuz it doesnt have any value to begin with.

I've bought a couple over the years. If rides straight, that is a steal. Just check the head tube area closely, or as advised above, have someone you trust do the same. Good luck!!

Damn Skippy! Especially someone you can trust who won't be romatically invested in the transaction. In other words couldn't give a Sh^t if you buy it or not and has the ***** to stand up to you and tell you "This is a walk away"...and you will listen to their advice!
