Default Another SB tail light thread

Hey guys,
As a few of you may remember I was injured last year and unable to ride my (at the time new) fxdb.
Well I'm up and riding, and of course customizing my ride.
And what's the one thing I'm unhappy about? you guessed it! The limp dick tail light.
I know that I'm going to need the holes on the fender filled and re painted once I change out that abomination on the rear fender. Right now I have a kuryakyn side mounted vertical plate, I know they make one with the tail light on it (wish I'd got that in the first place) anyway is it possible to just get the light for the plate somewhere and attach it to my existing plate holder? Or what are my options for circular a circular side mounted tail light?
I appreciate any input or advice.

Here are some pics of my baby currently

with the street bob, the rear blinkers also act as running and brake lights. so you can remove the tailight and still have working brake lights without adding one.

Mike, I'd thought about and been seriously considering it.
Unfortunately currently I can't do that because they won't let it on a military base without a separate tail light. Although I'll be out of the military next year so it is an option.
I kind of like the look of the side mounted round tail light that I've seen on a few bikes here.

check their side mount vertical version too. cool but illegal for me here. side mounts are going to be punishable by death soon too.

Once you get the fender holes cleaned up you could install one of these under the edge.

I've seen it done before. It looks pretty clean.

Or you could do a fender edge tail light from Harley like I have on my bike in the sig pic. It is LED and actually pretty bright for how low profile it is.

Scott,
I'd seen swim thing similar that HD is offering now like that, but according to them won't fit on the SB fender.
Old lefty,
I'll need to check the law here in Texas regarding side mounted tail light. If its in a grey area I'll go ahead and do it, the PH plates have benefits of when it comes to the cops letting you off easy.

i would love the side mount plate no tail or a small led strip like greatscott posted the link to. would be nice to keep as much light on the back of the bike as possible for those bad drivers to see. lots of them a$$h*les out here
