here is mine and one on a customer bike... as far as sound goes, i love it, but of course i will say that it is my pipe right... ill try and snag a sound clip next time i fire up the bike
I have been running the RB Racing Blackhole exhaust on my 2006 Street Bob for a few years and really like it. The steel plate bracket that came with it didn't break but it did break a mount off of the transmission case. i had my friend cut a revised bracket that bolts to the lower part of the clutch cover and it has been solid.
Ok,old thread but I have just replaced some short shots with a pro pipe (standard baffle) and am amazed by the increase in power.
My bike has a k&n filter and old style fuelpak and just by putting the pro pipe on and doing nothing else it feels like a different bike. The power where I need it in the mid-range feels like it's almost doubled.I have since manually retuned the fuelpak with numbers from V&H and this made zero difference. The pipe made it fly!!
Noise wise I would say the pro pipe is only marginally quieter than the short shots (standard baffles also) but I was knocked out by the difference a simple bolt on mod could make to the power.OK,maybe the fuelpak wasn't set up for the short shots,I don't know because I bought the bike with those pipes already fitted.
My Fat Bob came with a TH exhaust and as I liked the sound of it that was about it. The way the pipes route in front of the motor and sit right next to the forward controls so you burn you shoes was a pain. Then the look of it being welded by a first time student was not eye pleasing. They are one of the most expensive pipes too at over a grand. I took it off sold it and went with the Vance and Hines big radius. It sounds good, looks good and was less than the TH. Here are some before and after pictures.
Took off my Bassani and have installed a Supermeg.
Better torque
Better noise for my neighboors and my head and police officers
Better ground clearance.
