Default 2006 Dyna Superglide question

OK, I sold the 92 Springer that I built https://www.hdforums.com/forum/gener...m-paint-5.html in march and finally got around to buying another bike, the 06 Dyna. I have no plans of doing anything to it other than handlebars since the stock ones are killing me at 5' 7". Anyways, I am going to go with the Wild 1 Chubby 10" apes. Had the 9.5" on the Springer and loved them. From what I have tried to determine through the many posts on here is if I need new cables. From what I have gathered, my stock cables will work correct?

You can get away with tweaking the cables and get it to work, but its going to bind. You really need to go 6" over for throttle, clutch and brake lines to keep it from binding

You really need to replace both cables...you should have enough wire though

Just wanted to remind you about the two issues with the 06 Dynas. First, the bearing and race of the trans mainshaft into the inner primary. Second, the alternater stator being shredded by screws backing out of the rotor. The bearing issue on mine came in at 10,000 miles. The stator issue depends on if the factory installed a welded or screwed together rotor. Just want you to be aware. Ride Safe. Terry, 06 Dyna

With a little preventative maintenance you can fix both of these issues if you do the work yourself for about $100.00. As far as your original question you should be able to get enough slack from your clutch cable if you reroute it behind the triple trees.
