I'm looking for a solution to clean up the lines on the right side! Only part I do not like about running apes.

Question

I love the look of apes but have heard you sacrifice control to some extent. Is there any truth in this?

Thanks in advance

you hear all kinds of stuff...numb hands , loss of control ,uncomfortable. almost always by people that have never rode with them.
there is no loss of control, actually things get a bit more sensitive. you will pick up more wind with apes though, about the only down side I know of.

Finally got my 14" Carlini Flying Apes (they measure out to be 17" from bottom of bar at riser to top of bars so if you go with Carlini keep this in mind ) and got them on the bike not a Street Bob but a Dyna anyway. I don't have my cables yet but did get the wiring ran through the bars and did not have to add any length to them.

I have carpel tunnel in both my hands, from many years of installing carpet, and I can ride longer without resting my hands since I put my apes on. As far as handling, I don't see any difference. I've had apes on my last three bikes. Bought my superglide in June of 2011. didn't want to let it set long enough to put bars on it, so I waited till last winter. I rode the bike all summer in 2011 with stock bars and all of this past summer with the apes. Seems to handle the same, but the wind is stronger on the four lanes.
The biggest difference is that it looks bada$$ed. IMO.
