I really appreciate all then input from you guys. I'm thinkin i'm gonna prolly end up with the risers n bar. Mostly cause of money, but i think the adjustability factor is worth it also. Dont really wanna put the speedo on top but with a gauge mount, i should be able to put it where ever i want.
Sorry for the thread jack but does anyone know who makes the inverted V-bars? They look like T-bars but instead of a T they are an upside down wide spread V. (I'm looking for black)
Chad Peterson (user name)has them. I saw them in the pic of his bike on his post in Club style/Thug style Dyna Pic's thread (1st pg. 9th post).
To the OP, we can make you a bar in any configuration, width, pullback, etc at a very reasonable cost. Forum members get a 15% discount, (coupon code HDF03 at checkout)

I'd go with the T bars for rigidity, simplicity, and internal wiring. If you really want to be able to adjust them, go with risers and Pro Tapers like has been mentioned before.
My experience was exactly the opposite, but I went with pro taper bars which are much stiffer/stronger that any Harley specific bars. Changing to a harder riser bushing is a must due to the increased leverage on the bars. I ran 10" Tbars before I went to the pro taper set up and the adjustability alone was worth the cost.
Do you have any pics of this set up? I'm thinking of doing the same some time this year. To be still able to use stock cables what's the max height you can go with on the risers?
Thanks
Yes, those are the ones on Chad Peterson's bike in the link you posted.
The ones I am interested in come to a sharp point (welded?)in the V and are black.
The ones in the pic you posted are close, except they are chrome and the point of the V is slightly curved (mandrel bent?).
I will google "preying mantis" bars and send Chad a PM.
Thanks!
EDIT: well, I googled it and couldn't find them but I did find this good pic!
Sorry Vermonster, my posting didn't come across right. When I said praying mantis I was referring to the bars linked to by hdcustomfab. They remind me of a praying mantis.
The bars you want are simply called "V-bars".
The pic I posted is from Noise Cycles. (rounded bent front)
Chad's bars are actually from West Coast T-Bars. They are an older model called "V-bars" which they don't show on their site anymore. I would bet you can still get some if you called the West Coast guys and asked to have a set made for you.
