So, I'm gonna take my 2013 wide glide in to be tuned. I wanna make it a one time thing since it's gonna run 400.00.
I'm gonna be running Thunderheaders with a K&N filter in the stock housing. With a Power commander as well. What intake would provide max TQ and power with this set up? Thanks.
The intake really doesn't matter. You are replacing the backing plate so you can have a open A/C and get rid of that plastic casing that's around your stock A/C, right?
Did you already buy the power commander? Not the best choice as it will be always attached to your bike. Is stage one going to be the only upgrade to the engine?
If so, there are better options.
Have you checked into how good the guy that's doing the dyno tune is. Is he going to develop a custom map for your bike? There are very few dealers that can tune a harley right. In fact my dyno tuner tunes for the local harley dealers because they know they can't do what he can.
Don't dyno tune it unless the plastic is gone around the A/C, it would be a waste.
I would save the dyno money and buy a Power Vision Tuner. No piggy back, and now you would have a tuner that can adapt to whatever you do for your ac or cams or whatever.
Dump the stock back plate. K&N is good too. No Tubes has built in ports.
I have never had any problems with my auto tuner. Zero down time. No visits to the stealer.
For a piggy back system, I can't and don't complain.
Year round, all weather rider.
Happy happy. Two years without a problem and expect many more.
Well, first of all thanks for the help. I will dump the back plate. I'm also looking pretty seriously at the TTS mastertune and making a trip to the Cycle Doctor. Any thoughts? I hear they are really good.
Don't know about the Cycle Doctor but the TTS is the way to go as long as the tuner knows how to use it.I was fortunate enough to live close to the TTS master when I lived in Florida.......
