I've had my 08 Electra Glide Classic for about 3 weeks now. The previous owner (close family) had put a pair of slip on mufflers on it (unknown brand). I'm looking at getting the K&N air filter for the stock housing.
From what I've read, any changes to intake and exhaust would benefit from a PC V. Would what I have done benefit from the tuner or just help the stock tune let the motor breath better?
I was in a similar situation and ran lean with decel popping so I picked up a PC V and tuned it to run strong with no popping. From that point I went to the FM build I'm at now with a Dyno tune. Good place to start and you can just re-tune as you add engine mods.
i just did a AC/Slip-on Exhaust and included a PCV. I've been happy with it so far. Went with fuel moto for my upgrades. They installed the map on the PCV for my new setup and will send new maps when I make changes. Plan on putting a 2-1-2 crossover header and will request a new map from fuel moto. Currently live in Germany and will have to put on the stock mufflers to pass inspection. I will put in the request and Fuel moto will send me a map for that setup as well.
Every thing I've read has many suggesting a dyno tune to get the max out of your ride. I do not know if one is available around me. So I went with the PCV.
Might go with a PCV autotuner later. but will do more research before making that decision.
I just put a tuner on my bike. I am not one to oversell things.
I have open a/c and slip ons. Tuner brings it all together. Runs smoother, more power, and mpg increase.
Fuel lite was coming on at 180 like clockwork. Now just over 200. Don't really care about fuel milage per say. But let's me know the bike is definitely running more efficiently
