I was working on installing the FLD floorboard kit on my bike this afternoon. Got first side done and then started working on the brake side. I loosened the locking nut and then turned the flats on the brake master cylinder but the rod broke before it came out (picture attached). Any ideas on getting the rest of the treaded rod out?
Since it broke it must be real tight and I think and EZ out won't help.
You need to find out the size of the thread and drill it out but go with a drill size smaller than the tap drill size to try and save your thread.
An air gun and tapping fluid.
center punch , center drill or spot drill then drill it.
A left hand drill is your best bet but if you can't find one just use a regular drill.
I tried to use the ez out and get the treaded bolt out. No luck there.
Next I tried to drill it out. No luck there either. Finally, I took the rear brake master
cylinder assemble off. Had to order a new one from Harley.

Same happened to me a few years ago when I installed FXDP floorboards.
My indy took the master cylinder off the bike, disassembled it (click link forparts diagram), put the pushrod into the lath machine and drilled it out.
