I agree, the pipe needs to come out of the fender bracket. There is no nut visible anywhere and no means of attachment other than the fender bracket itself. The only thing that I can think is that the white area around the threads in the last picture is some kind of compression insert that expands in the hole when the pipe is threaded into it. This is just speculation on my part. Thanks all, BB

There's no Bolt Look at the pic and maybe it will help... The pic shows everything but the housing.
Trotter, your picture doesn't match what I am seeing in the picture BB posted.

The WideGlide strut situation is different from the StreetBob.

On the (06) WideGlide both of the fender support holes are threaded.

Strut cover is longer on the (06)WideGlide.

Nutted behind strut cover??

What year model is yours BB??
The picture of the inside looks different from my 06 WideGlide fender.

I think it matches exactly except the sleve I'm missing between the strut and the light housing. If he would loosen the lock nut next to the light housing and twist the light housing loose (Off) the nut will back off and under the lock nut the flat part to put a wrench on will apear.

Mine is an 03 WG. The picture that Trotter posted is different than my assembly. Close, but different. I will back the nut off as far as I can and see what's under it. Thanks, BB

BB if ya dont loosen the turn signal the nut wont back off enough to see the flat part to put the wrench on. Make sure you unplug the wire from the brake light first so ya dont twist it in a knot while loosening the light housing

Now that I look at your picture again,
I realize that you havethe boltthreaded into the wrong side of the fender support.

No, it does not match exactly to the picture BB posted.

That is just a sample like I'm missing the washers and the chrome sleve that goesover the hollow pipe and i had the strut turned around but he should have gotten the Idea. I ran into the same problem 2 weeks ago and took me awile to figure this out. Just trying to help. But I'm sure both my wide glides and my street bob work the same way've done them both and used the same parts Good Luck.

Got it! It was a plastic threaded bushing. Trotter, you were right. I first had to unscrew the housing all the way off the threaded stud, then I could unscrew the nut far enough to see the wrench flats. It came right off. Man that makes me feel stupid, thanks guys for all the help, I appreciate it! BB
