As I recall a local dealer out here on the West Coast was selling 2012 WGs for only a bit more than that with no issues.
With a salvage title, even if the bike needs nothing and is in perfect condition is not worth near $11,500. That price is nuts for sure.
Do you know which one? I'll send you a pm.
EDIT: I cant send you a PM, you must not have enough posts. Please let me know what dealer that was.
11,500 with a salvaged title. I hope they don't think it is worth more because it was in a super storm.
Saltwater flooded - No way
Pain "fresh water" flooded in NYC - No way / I use fresh water very loosely
Fresh water flooded besides NYC - Maybe but not for 11,500
My dad just bought a 2012 wide glide with 2500 miles on it for $11,500 without a salvage title in excellent shape locally. Maybe $5500 but be prepared for possible issues. Not to mention no matter what you pay for it a bike with a salvage title is always difficult to sell.
We're in the St. Louis area. Check St. Louis Craigslist, I just briefly looked and saw a 2012 for $12,800, a 2011 for $12k and a 2010 for $12,500. There are a bunch of them around here cheap.
Yep I found it. I had been using searchtempest.com to search mutiple craigslists, but I'm in NY so that was too far away. Maybe I will just expand my search.
You may want to check into shipping the bike. A freind of mine bought a vrod off ebay in Florida and had delivered to St. Louis for less than $400. If you buy the bike for $12k and ship it for less than $500 you still be well under the $14k bike prices you have in your area.
