Anyone know if it would be a wise idea to shorten the gears on an already high-torque motor? I'm building the motor at the moment and pondering changing the transmission sprocket to a 30T and possibly the rear to a 70T. Aside from potentially replacing lots of belts and rear tires, would this combo with a 120+ torque motor stress the crankshaft?
I don't see any reason why it would stress the crank more than stock gearing.I just put the 30t on mine and am putting in a 107 ,it should be in the 120tq range.I think adding the 70t is a bit much for me, you may like it though.I guess I won't know till mines back together though.
