Ok so pictured below is the outer primary. You can see the spot I'm talking about for reference by noticing the aluminum cap where the mid control used to be.
This is on older bikes an inspection cover plate. But on this machine it's nothing but a hole for the mid control mount. Once the mids are removed by the stealership they pop in some kind of chrome or aluminum cap and that's that.
I find this area of the primary particularly boring..... bordering on ugly. Now here's where I really go on my soapbox.
There are aftermarket parts for Harley applications from gas cap emblems to derby covers and tons in between.....but I swear I have looked far and wide and I can't find anything made by anyone that is designed specifically to accent this area of the primary. You'd think its not gone unnoticed by just me for Pete's sakes. Right ?? Seriously am I the only mother fu(k3r out there who is driven crazy by the lack of anything at all for this.
It's clearly an identifiable recessed shape that would accomodate a 3m emblem to stick n there. So that is what I need your help with.
If you know of someone who makes something for this application please share....if you have created something custom that works well please share.....if you design one , sell it to Kuryakyn based on my idea and make millions please share.....and if you have gone crazy looking at the same eyesore and feel the pain then please share too.
There's gotta be something right???

I believe what your looking for is called a "New Outer Primary Cover" lol
theyre really not that expensive on eBay
It's not that.....look at it like this.
There are tons of small mods like the one I'm talking about that exist for the same reason.....I don't wanna drop a couple hundred bucks on a new primary cover.....I just find it odd that someone has not Been annoyed enough by this to have created something simple yet cool to fix this.
I'd much rather spend 55 bucks on an insert...emblem....something than to spend 200 or more on a match to mine just to have to buy an actual inspection cover to cover the new outer primary's stock one that I won't like stock either.
So all the lol and kidding aside....I didn't ask for buy a new outer primary..as a solution......there has to be something .
I don't accept this.

This is the reason I left the shifter shaft sticking out and used the chrome cover on it.
I could not find anything that pleased me.
If you find something let us know by posting here.
I guess an easy fix could be to mask the recessed area off and paint it with black wrinkle paint to match the other cover.
You could probably use some filler/putty to smooth that area where the button is if you really wanted to, but i think just painting it will have the affect you are looking for.
