Hey Guys,
I am a newbie to this forum and to the HD world. I have had bikes in the past but mostly rockets. I have since grown up some.
I am looking for my first Harley and I have the chance to buy an 2001 FXDWG2 Screamin Eagle with a 103 upgrade and a mukini flatslide carb. They are asking $12,900.00 CDN. Bike has 8500 miles.
Looking for opinions on this bike at this price in CANADA.
Also some questions about the forward controls. I am kinda short and I am wondering if they can be moved back about 1.5" nothing major and not to mid just adjusted a bit.
Nick
Can't help you with what it's worth. Have no clue what bikes bring in Canada.
I just did a post on reduced reach for forward controls on the sticky
* HOW TO * under fifty bux *
I will add more photos a little later when I do the fishing touch for the install.

Oh by the way, the bike looks great
That reduced reach sounds pretty easy and cheap. Thanks
Do you guys know if the 103 ci in this bike would be a factory option. I would like to know more about this upgrade.
Guy says that the bike has 11:1 comperssion and comp relief. Has a cam and also the flatslide carbas mentioned before.
This bike came with an 88cui motor and there was no factory option to upgrade it.
The mileage, as you know, is very low. That's a bonus for an SE model. The upgrades need to be valued independently. I would thionk the 103 engine has some value, but you may want to find out who built it and what kind of parts were used.
Just a quick run through the NADA Guide says it's worth about $10.5 in USD for a stock as-delivered bike. Just guessing, but the upgrades probably bring your price in line with reality.
The next question is this. Do you want to spend $11k on a 12 year old bike when you can get a much newer (athough not SE model) bike for the same money?
In the end, if you like it and you find it is mechanically sound, it doesn't seem overpriced for what it is.
I have a cousin that was in the same situation. He found a nice street bob for $12k and it had some upgrades on it. He ended up buying new for $1k more. It might be a good thing to look into.
not sure about you, but after i bought my stock 08 fxd, i got into learning about the bike and wrenching almost as much as riding it... that bike doesnt look like something i'd tear down and work on so it would lose a LITTLE bit of appeal if i was you, and its been modified to suit the previous owner's taste and vision of what he wanted his bike to look like...
ON THE OTHER HAND, thats a pretty sexy bike right there... id hurry up and get it if you can and dont mind that its been customized/personalized by someone else...
