would like that old school sound for pipes
hi brothers, suggestions on pipes that have that deep low sound. I have heard the thunderheaders and thats close. but is there something else better. the sound I'm looking for
is that 1970's harley coughing and choking down the street.

Being that you have a fuel injected motorcycle you will never have that classic Harley sound. The carbed bikes had a much lower idle than yours.
Personally, I think my 06 Bob sounds great with my bargain Cycle Shack turnouts. But the potato, potato is going to be heard on the carbed models only.

The best I've found is the reinharts for sound, the Idle sound is as good as your gonna get. Take the time to Listen to them before ya buy. I didnt and now I'm selling all the other pipes i've tryed.

at idle my 06 w/cycle shack slash cut potatoes all day. (efi)
my dad has an 05 carb with samsons and both bike potato the same
i have also loged many miles on a carbed evo and can say its damn
close. as for the classic sound i love drag pipes!! i just love that
machine gun sneezing sound when you let of the throttle!! hadem on my evo and loved it. that sound reminded me of the bikes i grew up
with in the 70's.

I've got slip-on Cycle Shacks tapered ends on mine, it has a carb, and it sounds really good. I've got a lot of good complements on how the bike sounds.

me thinks any motor that the idle is turnd down like that is starving
top end of low oil pres. on my carbed bike it chuged when i first start it
and pushed in the enrichner, but after it was fully warm it idled at 1000
rpm as does my efi 06. w/plenty of potatoes!!!
