Default difference between programmer and xieds

Well, I bought a set of xieds for my 2012 superglide only to find out it already had them installed. I bought the bike used, I didn't know it already had a set installed. I have some decel poppping going on and I want to fix it. Would a programmer work better? Which one would be best? I have a k&n air filter and rush slip ons that's it! If anyone is interested in the xieds pm me....brand new.

Think of the Xied a the most basic and simple enrichment device to correct the lean conditions the newer bikes have.
A good tune will correct and improve other aspects of your riding curve based on the changes you have made and will reduce some of the popping you are experiencing on deceleration. I said some because the Rush exhaust are notorious for a little popping due to their design characteristics based on my experience.

I too have the rush slip-ons. I went with the PCV fuelmoto tuner. They have a special on them right now I believe. They sent it programmed to run with the rush pipes I had, and A/C I bought from them and now I only have the occasional pop. I also want to point out, that tune really made a difference on my bike. I recommend it.

Somebody ask a question like yours everyday here...Do some searches as there are hundreds of threads on tuners. Do your homework as you will get tons of opinions and misinformation.

A good tuner and a good tune will take out decel pop. It depends on 2 things:
How well you want your bike to run.
and how much you are willing to spend.

It amazes me that people will go cheep and be satisfied with "runs pretty good"
If people knew how good their bike could run...they would do it right

A quality tuner adjust timing, fuel, and has other capabilities that XEID's don't. ome tuners you have to have hooked up to your bike (piggyback tuner) while the bestones will reflash your ECM and the tuner is there forever. You can buy some of the tuners preloaded with a map that will get you close or you can have it dynotuned. There are also self tuning options on most of todays tuners.

Good luck in your search

Personally, I have a 2011 FXDC with V&H Twin Slash slip ons, SE airbox, and dealer download, and my bike runs great! Cooled it down about 20 degrees, runs stronger, no backfires, popping, or problems. I know the dealer download is frowned upon by some (most) people, but I'm extremely happy with mine. I know at least a dozen people who are running just the download, and feel the same. One friend has over 65,000 trouble free miles on his Street Glide with just slipons, airbox, and the download. He's had ZERO problems.

Hi,
Yeah I reckon the bike can easy get slip on's and air box change without doing stuff all, it's just hype you'll blow your engine up, cook it blah blah blah

It's like the synthetic oil discussion, worst part about it all is everyone ends up paying mega $ for all the carry on
Thanks
Mirrmu

Get the Power Vision and it will cure the popping.

Everyone has their own opinion,
Do what you want with your own research.
There are plenty of good tuners, Hey there may be thousands that don't like mine.
I don't care, the bike runs great and I'm happy and that is all that matters.
And yes a tuner will take care of your decel.
