Anyone make up a stock size set of spoked wheels for a Fat Bob yet? I mean with the 16" tires...seen lots of other combo's...couldn't I just use FLH hubs to make 16" spoked rims?
Just use an Electra Glide or Heritage front wheel with your 25mm wheel bearings. It will fit like a glove.
For the rear, I used my Dyna hub (2008 with 25mm bearings), unlaced the 17 inch rim, shortened my spokes by about 3 threads each and laced up a 16 X 5.00 from a 2010 Road King. You have to remove the brake caliper to get in on and off but other than that, it has been perfect for 2 years.
This is from when I was building my Street Bob with Fat Bob front end, it shows the wheels and tires. After this phase, it just didn't resemble a Fat Bob anymore.
Using 2 squares, I measure 6 1/2" outside to outside on my front rotors but 6 3/4" on my buddies FLH...I know his is based on the 41mm forks and the new Dynas are 49mm...but it would seem an FLH hub will be 1/4" too wide...comments?
HrdNox....stunning bike; not where I'm going with mine, but beautiful. Nicely shot, too...
Don't know if the Fat Bob forks have some sort of brake caliper offset or not but I have used Fat Bob trees with Street Bob forks on both my Street Bob and my kid's Nightster. They used the Street Bob spacers, FLH (same as FXDF) axle and the brakes lined right up.
