I'm interested as well. I don't understand how or why I wouldn't need guards? To me, it looks like the bags may hit the inside of the wheel.

I also need to park my bike closer to the computer, everytime I see something interesting on the forum, I have to walk to the garage and look at my bike.

I used those Willie and Max Compact Slants on my '03 Sportster without guards. I cut a mouse pad to fit and put it under seat between the yoke and fender. I used 2" pieces of the soft half of velcrostrips and attached them to the bags wherever they contacted the shocks. When I removed the bags after 1.5 years at trade-in there was virtually no sign of them having been there. They are also small enough that you don't have to relocate the signals. The downside is very limited capacity- one pair of size 11 tennis shoes will fill up a bag.

Hey Cheese:

Have you noticed any wear of the denim paint on yours (caused by the bags)? If I had it to do over, I would have gone with Vivid Black in the beginning. For me, this denim is more trouble than its worth...

I have not noticed any rubbing on the struts or the fender..I glued felt to the underside of the bag..It seems to be working for now.

Does anyone know if Easy Brackets are compatible with theWillie & Max line ofCompact Slant bags? The bags are kind of small and I'm not sure how large the brackets are. ALSO, since the bagsare slanted, the brackets may not work at all. Anyone with experience, please post it. THANKS!

Guy's I wouldnt recommend the throwovers laying on the fender.Get a Motherwell rack and throw the bags over the rack. Costs about fifty bucks for the rack and takes about a coupla minutes to remove the rack and go back to a bare fender.

Good Luck

Tom

I have a Mustang Fender Bib mounted in the affected area, so I'm not TOO worried about the top (more concerned about the SIDES). I still would like to know if anyone has used Easy Brackets with the Willie/Max Compact Slant Bags, however.

TOMMAY: What pillion is that you have mounted in your current sig?

THANKS!

Not at all. I have them pretty well secured with zip ties, not to mention the passenger seat holding the yoke down. I just looked to be sure, and there is no wear. I love the denim, but I like the looks of rat bikes, so if it gets worn I won't really worry about it.
