Good point - I totally overlooked the FXD center console... my B-A-D.
HeythereUthere: may have to disregard my first reply - sorry.

Dont be sorry, I shot my mouth off before I gave it a second thought. The wiring does plug in exactly where your pic shows it does.
To the OP, you need to lift the tank way up before you can see the connector. Its going to somewhere in the vicinity of the top stabilizer. Most of us never look for it, we feel for it. Its easier that way
Last question before I decide to just rewire this thing. There is a plastic cover that is under the tank. It starts at the vent tubes and runs about halfway up the cylinder. Could my connector be up in there?

I took this pic when I did my rocker cover swap, but forgot to take one of the other side. But in this pic you can see how the throttle cables are attached by two plastic clips to the side of the frame backbone. If you look carefully, about halfway between the two hold-down clips you see a smaller clip "hiding" under the throttle cables. On the opposite side of the frame in about the same place is a similar small clip that holds the fuel gauge wire and connector; I was able to wiggle the wire loose without removing the tank, but it took a little patience and some luck! Hope you get it worked out.
