Disconnect your fuel line from the tank if you raise the rear or else you can break the plastic connector on the other end of the line. Don't ask me how I know
"Never disconnected the line before. Will I lose fuel? The tank is full. I appreciate your help."
First try and prop up the tank as far as the front x-over and main fuel lines will allow - might be just enough room for you to wiggle your way under the tank.
If you really have to disconnect the main fuel line you need to relieve it of fuel and pressure - first remove the fuel pump fuse (on my FB it's the blue 15 amp in the middle of the far left column - check your owner's manual), run the motor until it sputters out, then crank the motor for just a couple of seconds.
Turn everything off, then lift up on the chrome sleeve and carefully pull down on the plastic elbow - at most a couple of drops may fall out, but that should be it.
When reconnecting the fuel line make sure the plastic elbow is fully seated in the connector and the chrome sleeve securely "locked" in position. Good luck.

The old gauge runs under the tank but for the life of me I can't find where it plugs in. Your picture is similar to what the manual shows. I just can't find it
