has anyone ever put a set of defender bags on an 06-up dyna. i have a set and trying to see if its possible or do i need to sell them. I think the main trouble is the rear fender brace, just like the fxdxt has and some sportsters that will brace the rear mount.

The guys that have them on the 06 and up bikes that ive seen run them without the cages on ghost brackets. Or you could modify the cages to work but that is probably a lot of work. They mount up to the passenger peg locations and on the 05 and below dynas those are frame mounted where as yours is on the swingarm. Also the fender bracers were made for the smaller width fenders im sure you could get one and have it widened though. Basically anything is possible if you want it to be. Or sell them to me, they will fit great on my T sport and buy leather pros retro t sport bags.

If you're talking FXDP bags, you might try searching on posts by FXD2003Rider. Rene installed them on his FXD three or four years ago and he left a really nice write-up about it on this forum. As I recall, he fabbed a brace himself.

I have an '04 FXDP and that heavy brace is essential if you're mounting them with the cages. Otherwise, the fender will flex badly as that's a critical mounting point. And it is not even shown on HD parts catalogs for the FXDP. Must only come with the complete FXDP fender. Probably wouldn't fit your fender even if you could find one.

If you decide to sell & they're in good shape, should be good. A set recently sold on flea-bay for around $800. Been thinking about selling mine. They are so big/clunky, I only install them for trips. With em, I don't need a tent or sleeping bag
