Default Slim rear fender/struts versus other softails?

Hi guys, so I'm researching saddlebags/mounting options for my 2014 Slim.

1. I want them to be removable without too much drama.
2. I want them to sit close to the rear fender, not spaced way outboard like the Easy Mount brackets.
3. I have seen Road King bags on a few Slims but can't seem to find the threads?pics again.
4. I don't like the small Moco bags look, nor the ones from Leather Pro etc.
5. I'll rearrange the rear signals/taillight/stop light if I have to.
6. With that in mind...what's the difference between the rear fender shape of a slim and a '09-'13 FLHTC, FLHTCU, FLHTK; '14 FLHTCU, FLHTK?
7. What's the difference between the struts on a Slim and the struts on other Softails? Are the other ST struts just longer? Different mounts? Threaded holes?

Thanks for any help guys.
K

The bolt locations are in different locations.

I ended up just building out an entire new fender and got the detachable HD bags...all lightly used from eBay. So if I want detachables, its 4 bolts and 3 wired connections and Im done.

That said, I dont really dig going that route, so I may be selling the fender rig and bags...havent decided yet, but seriously thinking about it.

Thanks Dutch. Who knows where I'll be in this parade if and when you decide to sell the package but...send me a PM if you get there.

Bolt holes different locations...yah, I knew that they were farther apart/closer whatever. Are the actual struts different aside from the bag/bar mounting holes? Longer maybe? If the fender mounting holes are the same, I could swap my struts for standard ST struts and have more options for mounting bags and sissy bars no?
Guess I'll go up to the nearest dealer and see if the parts guy has struts of each for a comparo.

Bolt locations for the struts to the frame are the same for Slim and Deluxe/Heritage, fender mounting holes are different as well as some other things like seat fitment due to different angle in struts at frame and ECM caddy under the seat is different.

The slim rear fender is also more narrow totalling 7" as apposed to 7.25" on deluxe and heritage

Funny, I was just looking into the same thing yesterday.

I don't need to remove mine, so happy for them to be bolt on (security bolts, obviously!), so I've designed my own bracket and found a local metalworker/fabricator who's gonna make them up for me.

I'll post the results, but here's what I've designed...
