I'm running 18 disc with a closed cap now runs good. I was running a open cap with 15 disc and it sounded good. I ran it with the billet trim only and it sounded bad ***. I've talked with a few tuners and they said they run best with 15 disc and the closed end.

Thanks man. Here are a few pics from today. Nevermind the bungees on the shovel bags. The lids on these things are a PITA to keep closed on the highway.

Question: when changing the disk today I noticed that only one is closed. Is that what you do to have an open end cap? Or do I have to buy another end cap all together? I took the closed one out and installed the cap with12 disks and it sounds way better. Haven't rode it this way yet. Also bent one of the bolts! Gotta pick a few spares up somewhere. .

I just installed a Supermeg this weekend:

14 Disks and a closed end cap as recommended by Supertrapp. Performance is great and the sound is about as quiet as stock, but deeper with more rumble. I really like it so far. I also have an S&S Air Cleaner and XiEds.

You need to get the proper open cap from ST, as it has a certain opening size. The way you're running now, with no end cap at all, it's way too open and you're gonna get worse performance. The discs won't serve their purpose with the opening that large.

Here's mine with the black open cap from ST.

Man I love this place. Usually get the answers I need. I will have to order the open cap and some new screws. Until then it won't hurt anything to leave it all the way open will it? Hell my long shots had no baffles at all so I'm sure ill be fine for a week.
