My Corbin seat has a provision for a back rest. I never would buy one, firstly I couldn't talking my self into spendin two hundred bucks for one and secondly I didn't like the looks of them and thirdly I thought only old men used them.
Well,a buddy of mine bought an old sportster with a Corbin backrest. He said the old bike vibrated real bad and the backrest amplified every vibration right into his back so he passed it on to me. The price? Exactly two Bud Lights,so i thought I'd give it a try.
Sprayed some wd-40 on the adjusting screw and finally got it freed up and adjusted to my back, loosened the handlebar clamps and rolled the handlebars back a little bit andI swear, it's like riding in a rocking chair.
Guess I'll have to keep using it even if it does show my age.
I suppose thatâs one of thoseâform over functionâ things although in this case function goes over ;-) As long as either one of those goes we are on the safe side â and getting older ;-)

Yep, and the good thing is it's barely noticeable when your on the bike - oppisite of the 'function over form' windshields on a Dyna ))
I have the factory passenger pillion on my Bob and it gives just enough support to help out a bit without the ugly..IMHO ...backrest. Gimme a few more years,though....
That old adage, "Wisdom & Age" vs. "Young & Dumb" might apply. I have a bad back and needed the support for long trips. Heck it's just plain comfortable sitting on the bike now.
