Default factory head pipes

Just curious how many of you are going to leave the stock head pipes with the cats in and just do slip ons, air cleaner and some type of fuel management?

Did that on my Roadglide and have been very pleased, plan on doing the same thing with the Widglide. Already have the slip ons and Mach2 air cleaner, just waiting on my VIED's to install. Last bike I went all out, replaced the headpipe, mufflers and aircleaner and installed a PCV. Didn't find that it was that much better than what I have now on the Roadglide.

I would replace the whole exhaust to get the most out of your stage-1 kit.

I don’t think so. Wife’s 2015 switchback has the discoloring and heat in the same place in the header pipe as the Electra glides. The mufflers are much cooler.

Switchback's have a large single muffler, so I'm not sure about those, but I do know that on a two into two dyna exhaust the cats are in the mufflers.

Three different types of oem exhausts for dynas. The 2-1-2 like on the fatbob and low rider s have the cat in the header system near the merge collector. The 2-2 with hidden cross over on the street bob is the best performing dyna oem exhaust as the cats are in the mufflers. Change the mufflers over to a good performance set and it’s a good exhaust. And then there’s the switchback’s 2-1 exhaust which I don’t know too much about.

Looks like it's in the collector where both pipes come together but I don't know either.

WG has it like LRS and FB in the small collector pre-mufflers for sure.

What about the standard Low Rider? The collector area is much smaller. Looks to be in the muffler here?
