Default Shock preload slipping ?

Wondering if anyone has had this problem. I have a 2011 fxdc and before I went for a ride with a passenger I set the rear shock preload at 5 on both shocks. After about a 100 mile ride I checked the preload and the right shock was set to 1 . I guess it slipped? This happened once before which is why I checked it.

They are the original shocks about 6k miles on them . Seems to be only the right side.

The original shocks have steps or detents that should hold them into place. Check for too much grease or broken detent/pin.
If you adjusted the shock and it was not fully into the detent, it will pop out. Generally drop a notch in this situation.

you sure you didn't go the wrong way with the right shock?
Many has done it, me included.
The lock is pretty sharp for it to slip even with grease.
