Do you know how to pick up a fallen motorcycle?

When I first started riding my Dad put the bike on it's side and made me pick it up. It took me a while and wore me out. Then he put it back on it's side and said do it again. Again I struggled but got it. He then showed me how to do it right.
That is how he showed me. that was in 1963
