Ok I know how to use measuring devices, ruler and calipers. I have spent hours researching this and still confused. ANYONE with knowledge please help. I have called various dealerships and get a different answer nearly each time. I have a 2012 Wide Glide with an OEM dash and no mods. I measure the current speedo at the bezel of chrome and it is just less than 4". This part does say w/ five inch speedos. Now on a couple sites, calls, and on houseofharley it says Harley-Davidson Digital Speedometer/Analog Tachometer 4'', Spun Aluminum Dial, MPH 74774-11
Can someone walk me through ensuring my measurement is accurate and will this fit?

I have been waiting for 3 weeks already it is back ordered, I have ordered it but can cancel if I am convinced it will not fit. This is the look I want and not the other part with one analog and larger LED screen.
Man...I can't seem to find the post, but I specifically remember that the HD site had an error in the call out. Based on the House of Harley info, I'm guessing that they have the correct info.
There is a post somewhere that talks about the error in the HD catalogue and website. You may want to call House of Harley and just ask the question.
Thanks for the responses. Man if I had a dollar for each hour I have spent reading a looking for this answers. I like the dial in a dial but don't think it is going to work out. I am going to take my ruler and take a drive to a couple dealerships measure and then ask questions. Online shopping would save $45 but the local guys should refund it fast if it fails to fit. Here is a great site for OEM parts lookup too. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc
SLV what does your dial measure from edge to edge? I have called couple times and depends on who answers I guess. Not consistent.
From what I researched is that bar mounted speedo's are 4 inch and tank mounted speeo's are 5 inches.
according to HD website it is #70900171A for a 2012 wide glide
Measurements can be deceiving, when I got my tach/speedo combination I did not think it would fit but you need to realize the speedo is in a the console so you can not go by your measurements for just the speedo. That is what I was doing wrong. Mine is on the bars and the speedo was less than 4 inches but it fit correctly.

Mines a Street Bob, but should be the same application. My gauge face is 3 3/4" diameter. No way a 5" gauge would fit in the hole. The diameter to buy is the 3 3/8" model (inner can diameter.)
Thanks jpace024 for that post referral. I didn't see that one before. I think I have concluded the dual analog combo won't fit. I saw the other smaller one but didn't like it as much. So I am going to shelf that mod and move to the next. Thank you everyone.
I have the harley dual speedo-tach that looks identical to the one in your link on my 2011 super glide custom.
Don't know the part number of it but if the tank counsel is the same as a super glide custom you can get one to fit
