Default Is this a good deal?

I found a private owner locally selling his 2005 Dyna Super Glide Sportfor $11500 - OBO. It is fuel injected and has Vance & Hines pipes along with a backrest. The engine is crinkle black. The paint is black pearl. No mods done by the owner. The dealer added all the extras. It has only 1500 or so miles and had the 1000 mile tune up done last summer.

It's in my price range, new(er), but would prefer forward controls. I know, I can change it later.

Should I be looking for an 06 or later considering the change to a 6-speed?

What would be a good offer?

for comparison i bought a 2006 street bob (same motor but 6 sp) with hd windshield, saddlebags, forward controlsand luggage rack on ebay for 10500. It had about 3000 miles.

ebay isa good place to check what bikes are selling for or cycletrader.

I'd rather buy locally if possible, but have seen some local e-bayers recently. Nothing that caught my eye just yet. I like to look in craigslist.

I don't know. It depends on what your needs are. For a few hundred more, you can buy new and you get a warranty. If it was my money and I was going to spend 11.5K, I'd go ahead and just buy new.

Good luck!

I was also looking at a dealer-offered 02 Wide Glide for $12881.88 (who comes up with these numbers?!) that was real tricked out. At the time I thought this was outrageous but Kelly BB says its just about right. Really?
