Getting my Street bob end of month. Traded in my 2005 V rod with 45,000 original miles.
Any suggestions for new bike. See attachment.
Softer ride,
Lowering
Heat from pipes and engine
Dyna wobble
Worthwhile accessories
Congrats on the new bike. It's interesting coming from a V-Rod. Kind of a Corvette to 55 Chevy jump.
I figured someone would buy that color scheme sooner or later. It's the only 2013 Street Bob color I haven't seen in person. Make sure and get some pics loaded when you pick her up.
I'm a function over form guy. For accessories, I always do comfort, performance, aesthetics, in that order. Of course things that require more downtime, money, or shop labor might re-arrange the order a little.
Definitely do the stage 1 at a minimum. It's just better for the life of the motor for it to breath right.
Why did you trade the V Rod? Just asking because I'm thinking about one. I'lll never sell my Street Bob but maybe a V Rod as third bike. Was there anything you didn't like about it? Other than looks. Any problems?
def. do a stage one. the stock pipes get so hot with the catalytic in them you will want aftermarket pipes . I burned my leg constantly with the stock pipes.
Any good air cleaner will do .. screaming eagle, S&S etc. .
You will need either a fuel injection box or a new tune .. SE, Thundermax, TTS etc. All I have done is a stage one on my bike. A fender rack, mustang wide solo tripper, and handle bars. I absolutely love it.
Thanks for the reply
I have dyna shorty mufflers, fender rack, reach seat, heavy forward facing breather, mini apes handle bars, and harley re tuning.
Having problem as to weather the pipes and shorty muffler come with heat shields , or do I have to add. Also the muffler has a chrome shield where as the add on exhaust pipes have only nickel or black. I would prefer chrome, but if no choise would have both nickel.
Do you have any knowledge about whether they come standard or do I have to order. And which ones if so.
Thanks,
Roger
