Today I lost my only set of keys to my 2008 Street Bob. The key was with the alarm remote which rattled off my bike while riding. I bought the bike as a private sale but through Harley financing. Wondering if anyone knows the price of the key & alarm remote and how long it would take to get it.
Thanks
It was $40 for the fob last year and I don't remember the key price but they only sell them in pairs. I think it was under $30. They did program the fob to my bike for no charge but normally there is a charge for that also. It was a week or less.
That is not bad. My Prius was almost $500 for the fob and programming.

Exactly what he said. Mine flew out of my jean jacket pocket @ 80 miles an hour on the freeway last year! You most likely realize this now, the fob should be in your pocket and not paired with the key causing drag and that is probably what made your key wiggle it's way out. IMO You should consider an ignition switch re-location, just a suggestion, the type that doesn't require the key to remain in the switch while your riding. Others will soon chime in.

I keep them both in my tool bag while riding and in pocket when I get off the bike. Just for fear of losing them. I just bought a new fob as the previous owner lost one. It was $40 plus tax at Jackson, MS HD with free programming. Meridian HD wanted $40 plus tax plus programing of about $48. Better call and ask if programming is included or extra.
I did the ignition relocation for three reasons. A: I didn't want to lose my key/fob. B: I hated the ignition location being there. It was there on my sportster and moved it too. C: In my opinion all "big twins" should have it factory on the console. Now even if I lose my fob I can still turn on my ignition and enter in my five digit PIN to bypass the security and it lets me start the bike anyways. Really glad I did it cause I had some issues with my fob battery going dead and not reading it. Had to use the PIN number a few times before I was able to get the battery replaced.

If you lost your fob while riding what happened did the bike shut down?

Yours did not shut off when the Fob flew because the Fob is only necessary until the alarm is de-activated. It won't arm itself again until the ignition is turned off. That is why we have a pin code, in case we lose our FOB and need to get home without it.
I hope your not gathering information to swipe someone else's bike! LOL
There is another way to mod your key not to need to leave your it in while riding. If you hold your new key with the hole facing you there is a lump at 6 o'clock on the key. that is all that holds the key in the ignition. since you have to buy new keys try carefully filing that lump down on one key until you can turn the ign. to on and remove it.
funny thing I was riding on 13 N. in montreal @ 130 klikometers with only the bottom buttons done up because it was so hot out, the jacket flew open and I when I got to where I was going here I am blabbing away with a friend when I realize my keys are gone. I hopped on the bike and went back to the spot where the jacket flew open and rode the shoulder until I saw a suspicious lump on the opposite shoulder, I run (traffic was light or I wouldn't have tried it) Find my FOB, house & bike key wow! but a car or two had run it over. The replacements do not come with the HD plastic grip, just plain steel.
Thanks guys. Helpful for sure I will probably relocate the ignition. 3 weeks until new keys will arrive according to the dealership today. In the meantime I am just disconnecting the positive post from the battery and riding with no key/fob.. All good. Maddghost, I live in Alberta now but originally from Halifax!!
