Yes, yes, yes! 2012 Wide Glide - doing Super Glide exhaust, polished Duece rear with dual-disc 19" Super Glide spoke wheel front, on 2" extended forks, air shocks, Fat Bob rear fender and FXDXT fairing.
As mentioned above, if the tire following grooves is the only concern, get rid of the Dunlop 21", try the Metz or Michelin Commander II, a vast improvement over the dunlops.
I have to disagree, Rich. I have a metz 880 21" up front. Grabs every groove I can throw at it. 'Course they grow the grooves big here in Jersey. lol
I think it also depends on what tire you run...A higher profile = less drop...
True, but I did say "approximate" drop.
If using a fat bob wheel which is 16", and comes stock with a 130/90 tire, I'm no sure there is a lot of options for taller (ie 100mm, 110mm etc). However I can't say for sure as I haven't researched it yet.

Longhair, I have to disagree. I replaced the Duns with Metz this winter. Was on some grooved roads yesterday, no tracking whats so ever. If I still had the Duns on, I would have been all over the road. Although, I'm not riding in Mr. Christy's crack. LOL
I like it...corse I ride a FB! Never cared much for the skinny front tire on any bike! After the FB it just looks spindly to me! Not to mention a contact patch the size of a teaspoon! They have their place...but not for me! Go for it!
