Converting to dual disc, parts needed
I want a dual disc front end and my friend likes the wide glide rake, so we are contemplating swapping my wide glide front end (06 I think, definitely the 49mm though) for his super glide front end (2006). If we go through with the swap I want to make sure I have everything needed to get the bike rolling in one shot, and not buy unneeded/extra parts.
1) Fat bob lowers (part# 48739-08 and 48740-08, and axle holder/clamp #45104-08) (fat bob is 25mm axle, and 06 bob is 1". correct?). The fat bob has a different part number for the upper tubes than the street bob/super glide, but I have seen this done by others on this site.
2) Harley slotted six spoke front wheel (#43577-09) w/install kit for 2008 street bob (#41455-08C). I am assuming that width is the same on all mid-glides, but the 08 kit would be for a 25mm axle, instead of the 1" on the 06 front end.
3) 2008 super glide/street bob front axle
4) V-rod/fat bob calipers, master cylinder, and lines
5) Brake rotors (might as well get new matching ones)
6) I am assuming new wheel spacers too, since the new axle is smaller diameter
Am I forgetting anything? Can I get by without some of the items?
If for some reason we don't swap, I am still thinking of dual disc on the wide glide front end I have. Same list needed, with the exception of needing an 08-up wide glide axle instead of super glide?
