Default Sockets

Hey guys. I am looking for suggestions on what sockets touse to keep from messing up the chrome bolts on my Wide Glide. I have seen theprotective SE socket set but that seems like a lot of money for 8 sockets and arail. What do you guys use?

Try Eastwood and Mac Tools. I don't use them, but new tools are a good investment if you have to need to use them often enough.

Your less likely to damage a nut with a 6 sided sockets. Unless you like rounding off nuts and bolts (fasteners) always use quality america tools. Its always cheaper in the long haul

+1 The 6-point spreads the load across the flat. A 12-point will distort a tight bolt easier because there is less contact area. Just lessons learned the hard way over the years.

I never seen the Eastwood inserts until I Google'd it just now. It cost me around $22.00 on chrome hardware just to install adjustable highway brackets & pegs. I was crossing my fingers as I was tightening everything up. The inserts would be cheap insurance.
