Default bottom mount headlight on super glide

Has anybody ever drilled a hole to allow for a bottom mount headlight on a stock super glide lower tree? I know by taking it off the top id have the big ugly cutout part in the upper tree. But i was curious if it had been done. Thanks

Yes this has been done many many times, and is a very easy task to perform, as for the ugly opening left after the headlight brow is removed, just look at the sportster customs then have a nice trim piece that covers the upper tree opening very nicely

I removed the stock headlight and drilled the top clamp from beneath. I then cut a small piece of metal (1"x2") and drilled a hole on each end for mounting to the clamp and replacement light. I put heat shrink on it and mounted the light. The pic below is before I cleaned it up.

I used the holes in the top clamp that the stock headlight mounted on to mount the indicator bar. The cut out in the top clamp is invisible unless you look for it. It provides a nice gap for the wires to the speedo and tach.
