Opinions on Progressive 412's - looking for a cheap solution

412s are a complete waste of money as a replacement for non-faulty stock shocks.
Not knowing any better at the time, I fitted some to my Fat Bob. Big mistake. The choice was that they either bottomed out or, if dialled up, they turned into rocks. Nothing in between. eBayed them after a week.
I really suggest cancelling the order and either stick with the stock shocks or save for a while longer and get something decent, like some Hagons.

I appreciate the input from those telling me I'm wasting money... I did have some experience with the 412's on my wife's sporty 16 years ago, and they were better than stock (was changing length). Key issue with HD shocks seems to be they're over-sprung & under-damped. An incremental improvement in dampening was all I was after; right now she complains the back floats/wallows in bumpy turns - needs more rebound. My aim was for feedback... we'll see if they have any value and go from there.
