I've got on 06' Street Bob and I'm having an issue that is annoying me more and more as I ride; I feel like I'm sitting ON my bike instead of IN it, does that make any sense? What seats out there will feel a little more lower profile and in the bike? Just got the stock seat on there now.
Stock SB seats are comfy to me. Nothing like my mustang seat, that is like a holder for my butt. It's so comfy. Anyhow how tall and how much do you weigh. Lower profile seats are going to get you down there at the expense of comfort.
Another thing you can look into is dropping the rear suspension a bit. That'll set you back a bit. You could also throw on a tank lift. Between those two things, I am IN my bike for sure.
Check it out.

DAMN your bike is sick bro! Thought about dropping the rear, but does it adversely affect handling and ride comfort? Also, forgot to add, I'm 6ft and 200lbs, the 12in apes helped a bit, but I'd still prefer to feel lower into the bike
Well, yes the drop made a bit of a difference. For me the pros are outweighing the cons like, lower look, better filled fender, sitting lower flat footed so easier to move the bike around etc... cons, yeah you aren't able to lean in quite as far, but with my set up I'll still drag my pegs before pipe, so it doesnt make that big of a difference. And depending on you shock set up, you can still adjust to get a good ride quality, not AS good as full flex 12'' but not bad at all. I bought lower blocks for like $30 off ebay I believe to see how I liked it and they've stayed on.
And every street bob should have a tank life IMO, especially if you're rockin apes. It looks SO good...
I have got the barebones and daytona sport. Although the bare bones is nice and low, the daytona sport is way more comfy with a nice lower back support
Friend of mine had a 1" lowering kit on his fatbob, the same bike as mine. I sat on it, could not tell the difference as far as being "in" the bike, but I know he kept complaining his back killed him every time he hit some kind of bump in the road. Could not get that suspension to stop bottoming out.
does yours have mids or forwards
If you wanted that low in the bike feeling you would have been better with a softail.
