That hurry and wait crap gets you every time. As for me, I purchased a PCIII and SE slipons with the TCB's and have not had the chance to get them on yet. Good thing, found some vibration problems and have the bike up at the dealers to fix the problem. It's in the mid-60's here, sunny, and I need a ride just to clear the cob-webs that are hanging around. I'll have my stuff together for the weekend.

Keep us posted on the new tuner and what you think about it.
dlstanf2,

What was the cause of the vibration problem? I took mine out for a short ride last week in between snow storms and it did'nt feel right. Could be me - had my shoulder rebuilt and am still not 100% - but if I were a betting man, I'd say I have a bad motor mount...

How hard was it to install?

I have a Cobra 2000Fi on my bike and not to happy with it.

It was a pain in the ***, and well worth it. Best money I have spent on the bike so far.

I think your giving too much credit to the Thundermax...

SE forged high compression pistons. (95 inch) Their website says 9.6:1 with stock heads.
Ported and polished heads
SE 211 cams
K&N full flow (oval) filter
SE II slip ons with big city thunder baffles.

I'm sure these items had alot to do with your satisfaction

Not at all. All that stuff was done, and the bike was ridden several hundred miles on the PCIII before the thundermax system was installed.

I'm telling you. You wouldn't believe the difference. Harley should have used this system to begin with. It's just that much better. The PCIII is a good system, and if that is what you can afford and your happy with it, it will be fine and do you a fine job, but if you really want the best running bike around, and can afford it, thundermax is the only way to go.

Boogie,

I also had a shoulder reconstruction done in the past. Ripped the collar bone out of the shoulder. Had to wait 3 months before I had surgery to repair. Just work it as much as you can.

Virbration is now fixed. It was the front motor mount. Big Difference. I only had 4K miles on my SG and it was shot. Dealer put me off a couple of times before, but with the chaffing problem he had to do something. The new motor mount looks differnet that the original, but I am going to check this out, maybe this week. Dealing with shingles in the face and eye right now. Doc's got me on morphine and steroids and the wife want let me get on my bike, but I did slip a ride yesterday, but she busted me as I was leaving the driveway. Check out my other post for more info. A way to check that front motor mount is to start the bike up and look at the motor mount while someone bumps the throttle.

The thundermax comes with a new ECM because its a true tuner. It replaces yer H-D tuner caue the one from H-D is limited, along with their oxygen sensors. The auto tune comes with new oxygen sensors.
Yer waiting because the TM with A/T is the hottest thing on the market right now, its new and its totally awsum. They are so many people ordering them they are on back order. My buddy got his at cyclespot for like 729.00. We got a lot of Harley Dealers here that pust the power commander.
A dude had a PCIII took off his bike last week and a TM with A/T put on it and it did a wheel stand. the dealer said they have never put anything on a bike to make it run so good. you might have to cut the plastic that holds the ecm inwith a dremel tool to get it to go in,just take yer time.
if you need help call thundermax and ask. Its a easy installation and is the best thing you can put on yer bike. Do a download for yer bikes setup and ride the bike, it can tune as much as like 50%. You will be glad you bought one and you have one. No dyno time needed.
The PCIII is a dinosour. It alters the signal.

I'm thinking Andrews 37 cams and one of these might be the ticket.

What do you think Psycho?

This bike should have come from the factory with this brain.

If harley wants the best running cruiser on the market, they need to just contract with the manufacturer of these things to put them in every new harley coming off the assembly line, and just ditch whatever the hell crap they are using now.

I am perfectly, simply, amazed at the difference. I should have done this first.
I doubt the MoCo will ever offer these due to the choke hold the EPA has on them...

I'm glad I bought one based on your impression from this thread. Thanks Psycho

You won't regret it.

I'm working on a cable for mine. I have a factory siren/alarm on mine and the cablewon't fit as the siren is in the way. Their cable is too stiff to bend it around the siren. I called them about it and they told me they areaware of the problem. So I haven't even hooked mine up to the computer to do anything. This system is just that good that you can take it right out of the boxand hit the ground running.

I ordered mine on Monday and it arrived Friday with a base map install to closely match my configuration. I installed it Saturday morning and was riding that afternoon
