Default New Pipe & Scraping Issues

Installed a Bassani RRII this weekend, and loving the pipe - except that it runs a bit low, and my bike was already lowered when I installed it. To counteract potential drag on the new low pipe, I removed the lowering links from the rear shocks, which raised it up about an inch - but now what to do about the front end? I'm not really in a position to put in new springs, ricors, etc, so I'm thinking about simply cutting new spacers at an additional 1.5" to give me the necessary clearance. Questions are:

1) Do the spacers sit at the top of the forks or the bottom?
2) What material is best to cut the spacers out of?
3) Could it really be as simple as adding longer spacers???

I think most of your scraping will only be helped by adding taller shocks. You can add additional spacers in the front end but I don't think it will really help.

Some people are running 13 and 13 1/2" shocks on their dyna

I neglected to mention that the bike has a progressive drop-in lowering kit, and I'm scraping on the bottom-most bend - in fact, the scrape is only on that bend, so I'm hoping that lifting the front end will make enough of a difference to avoid most scraping. Definitely considering taller shocks, but if I go that route I think I'll need to rework the entire front end. Really looking for a band-aid at the moment...

If you don't need it to be lowered then post in the WTB classifieds and see if someone still has their stock front springs that you could buy next to nothing. Also make sure your back shocks are on it's hardest setting.

I'm not too familiar with how the Bassani attaches, but generally raising the rear doesn't give your exhaust more clearance. It spaces the fender from the tire, but everything revolves around the swing arm, which still would be at the same angle from the ground.

Hey! Thanks a lot. I didn't realize that was you. Got any six string ideas for the song? I'm alright on bass but can't play guitar to save my life.

Here's one of my finished songs. I wish I knew a guitarist with some consistent ideas. This guy kicks *** but isn't available often.

hmm I'd need to give it a few listens to get a vibe, but the drum track lends itself to some real variety... I'll think on it!

Definitely diggin City Girl!
