Default Hot start issue, help!

Hello Folks,
Need help with hot start. I am having the same issue as being a lifter bleeding down after a cold start. The problem is that this only happens on a hot start. When I start the bike after a while, the oil light stays on for about 7 sec and you hear a ticking/knocking sound. Then the light goes out and the sound is gone. No problems or sounds while riding.
When the bike is cold, she fires up right away, with none of these issues.
Oil (redline 20w50) is at upper level, changed oil (lucas 20w50) and filter already, changed spark plugs. Coming Friday I am changing lifters, cams, push-rods and chain tensioners. (might as well take the opportunity to upgrade, while it's open) I'll have a good look at the oil pump. No oil line pinched or bend.
Idle is on a cold start stock, after warm up (147F) idle was set to 930rpm. I have changed this back to a 1000rpm, but it doesn't make any difference.
It just doesn't make sense that this only happens when the engine is warm, weather here is 73F.
Anyone has an idea of what else could be wrong?
Bike is in the signature.
THX,
Steve

Default Update: Hot start issue, help!

Well, after 170 views no one replied.
So I figured I might give an update on the issue when starting the bike with a hot engine and the occurring ticking for a few seconds .
It turned out to be the oil pump, which was scratched and the gerotors were showing serious signs of wear. This resulted in very fine metal shavings, which luckily kept sticking on the magnetic drain plug. Good thing I changed that for the Dimple stronger magnet. There was some scarring on the lifters and the cam plate. The crank ran out was 0.005, which is probably the reason that the oil pump suffered. I wonder what would happen if the max ran out is obtained of 0.013 as found okacceptable by HD?
2 Other bikes with similar problems had come in in the shop recently and HD offered them to replace the oil pump free of charge. Although HD offered the new screaming eagle pump, the mechanics were installing the fueling pump. (Makes you wonder)
So, I took the same road. Flushing oil pan and lines. Installing the Andrews 48H, Fueling camplate, pump and lifters, SE pushrods and the zippers dual chain tensioners. Planning on changing the oil at 100 miles and again at 500 miles, hoping that all foreign material is by then caught on the drain plug and in the oil filter.
Crossing fingers that all stays within specs, as I do not know what the crank ran out was initially. Bike has 10.000 miles on it.
