Just bought a barely used 2012 Wide Glide. She already has all the important modifications done.
There is one thing I do not like......the headlight. I would like to have a 7" headlight that will fit and look as if it was installed at the factory. I appreciate any ideas/advice.
Congrats on your purchase, pics please! I am done modding for now, but when I start up again the first thing I am going to do is change the headlight. Stock looks too small for that bike IMO. I have not done a lot of research on this, but the look I will be going for is something like the Arlen Ness Stretched Billet.
I installed a drag specialities 7" headlight in black... Picked up it from power sport superstore thru amazon for about $80! The mounting block it comes with wont work with the stock screw but the stock mounting block works perfectly
Used a 7" bucket from a Fatboy, had it powder coated black and installed a trucklite LED and then frenched trim ring to complete. The mounting black worked with no problems.
Very first modification I did to my bike was that headlight, it kinda look like a leftover part from another project that they just threw on the bike. I personally fell the bike would look better with a longer bullet type headlight. so I went with the bullet headlight in 4 1/2. I was really trying to make the forks look wider apart than they already are by using the small headlight. seems like I did see a nice 7 inch headlight from performance machine.
really wanted to wait to take my own pictures (picking the bike up today), anyway here are some pics from the ad! Like I said the important stuff is already done: exhaust, race tuner, Stage 1 AC, grips & pegs, matched seat, tach/speedo combo. Also has FXDB shocks.
Pending changes:
7" headlight and I have to do something with the license plate. I don't like the side mount. I am thinking about a lay-down fender mount and maybe the "sausage" tail light from a Street Bob. Then I need the Ventilator AC (I am a big fan of that) and maybe quiet baffles, depending on how loud the pipes are.
This is my third Dyna, previously I had a FXDB and a FXDC.

You wouldn't be looking to sell the stock headlight? I agree too small for a wide glide but I think nice on a sporty. I don't like the brow on the my nightster.

Good looking ride! I have heard a few people say that they dont like the side mount license plate, I dig it personally. 7" sounds like a good fit for the headlight.
Looks like you got the V&H BSS, great pipes. I swapped my baffles out with BCT Monster Baffles, wanted them to be just a tad louder. They are loud, but now I am thinking of swapping baffles again to get a deeper sound.
Good luck with modding, its hard to stop! If you are going to be doing any lengthy riding at all, might want to consider going with apes, lot more comfortable than the drag bar.
I have wide glide forks on my street bob. I got a drag specialties lighr and I personally wouldn't recommend it. Lense cracked randomly one day and the mounting bracket was crooked. I picked up a fatboy headlight that I'm getting powdered to replace it.
