Man what a difference in sound. I'm also thinking like one of the other posters, why not just bolt all the new stuff on yourself? Get a service manual.
Congrats man, i know your feeling!! I just got a new 13 street bob also, I put pegs and seat on and it took 45min. Well took pillion off until the wife wants to ride. U could do It all your self and save dough, but I understand getting it done by Harley though.
I agree with the other posts. Half the fun for me is tinkering with my bike. I leave the really technical stuff to the shop, but controls, exhaust, bars, seats and service I do myself.
Just to **** everybody off with V & H pipes, I have been running them for 3 years and would "never" buy them again. Very poorly made in my opinion. When I can afford to I am going to replace them with Thunder Headers. More torque, better looking and better sounding plus I am impressed with the quality. I know, ******** and opinions!!!
Welcome to the Harley family. Harley is best, F*** the rest!!!
I really wish everyone on here actually new me, cause from the dealer mod comment I sound like a non wrenching fool. Search "Niedens Bronco" on youtube and youll see the 400 hp fuel injected 5.0 i put into my old 72 Bronco.
The only reason I am not doing the mods myself, is they offered me free labor on anything for my initial purchase... plus I have to have the ecu remapped anyway with the exhaust and air cleaner. Everything from this point forward will be all me.
For any tall guys out there, I really hate the current riding position. I have l already changed my pillion seat order to a tallboy seat. Hopefully with that combined with forward controls and potentially adjusting the handlebars it will be better. If anyone else has any great suggestions, please let me know. I am 6'4" with a 36" inseam and arms like an orangutan.
[quote=jniedens;11553948]Just became the owner of a 2013 Street Bob. Pretty happy with it, but its going back to the dealer on Saturday to get the first round of changes. On the agenda is Black V&H Short Shots, RSD Turbine Air Cleaner, Smooth Pillion Seat, Passenger Pegs, and Black Front Controls. Definitely looking forward to a free flowing sound vs stock. Will post pics along the way.[/q
