2011 Superglide, making me crazy
Took it to a shop, they had it for 6 days, changed the IPB and replaced the seal (500,00 $). On the way home sound is back. Didn't want my bike tied up again and lost faith in that shop so made appt with dealer. Wait 2 weeks to get in (not riding much beyond keeping things lubed and charged).
Dealer looks/listens/tests , can't hear/find anything unusual so tells me ride it until it gets worse. From what I described they think it's the bearing on the transmission shaft but don't want to start an expensive repair until they're certain what is wrong. I can appreciate that but keeps me somewhat limited as to how far I can go. I think they're a good company and I have faith in them
I'm beginning to think there is no "odd" sound just the sound of a bike with some miles on it. But then when I ride it I definitely hear something that I didn't hear before. I've had similar things happen with cars. Sometimes the sound turns out to be nothing and sometimes something but it wouldn't make the noise when I took it in for repairs.
