Ok, I've been searching for a clean 2006 35th anniversary super glide (the red/white/blue retro bike). In the process of looking, I have run across a 2002 super wide "switchblade." I cant decide between the two. Thoughts?? The switchblade has been meticulously maintained by original owner (neighbor) and just received a full tune up from dealer. That said, it has $28,000 miles. Is that a deal breaker??? 35 anniversary or switchblade?? Thank you for your knowledgeable opinions!!! Mitch
The 35th anniversary model is a great looking bike, but keep in mind that paint is the main difference between it and other Superglides. You could easily pick up a new Superglide and paint it in the retro scheme.
I realize there is some nostalgia involved, but even the 35th model is just emulating the real Red, White and Blue SG of 1971.
I say the switchblade if the price is good. But that's just me. The anniversary paint scheme looks awesome but if that's what drives you I would pick up a normal SG and paint it that way.
35th anniversary bike slaps on the switchblade, is the switchblade EFI or carb not that it matters but some people like carbs and some like EFI. the anniversary bike just looks clean, classy, and simple.
a kid with a sporty or an old timer with a ultra glide will both agree the red white blue paint looks classy and simple.
the switchblade looks like they tried to hard to make it cool, keep in mind this is my opinion only we all have different opinions.
